BioMedien

Karlsruhe, Germany
A group show exploring media with life-like behaviour

Our generative video artwork Infinity forms part of the group exhibition BioMedien (or BioMedia, in English).

Infinity is an endless, code-generated artwork, featuring a parade of unique characters generated in real-time.

Biomimetic media – or BioMedia – is media with life-like behaviour. This exhibition brings together digital, computer-generated and robotic works that simulate life, or certain aspects of living organisms. It explores the intersection of art and science, looking at how artificial agents can tackle urgent issues as well as how they can fuel our imagination. And it asks questions about possible future forms of cohabitation between organic and artificial forms of life.

BioMedia is open 18 December 2021–28 August 2022 at ZKM Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe, Germany.
